Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ):
The Art of Leverage, Control, and Submission
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a dynamic martial art and combat sport that emphasizes technique, leverage, and strategy over brute strength. Rooted in the principles of ground fighting and grappling, BJJ empowers practitioners to neutralize opponents of any size through superior positioning and submission holds such as joint locks and chokes.
More than just self-defense, BJJ is a lifelong journey of discipline, resilience, and personal growth. Whether you're training for competition, fitness, or self-mastery, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu cultivates mental sharpness, physical conditioning, and a deep sense of community. It’s not just a martial art—it’s a way of life.

Absolutely! Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu naturally builds strong bonds through shared challenges and progress. In our small group classes, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow students, forming real friendships both on and off the mats. As you train together, you’ll become part of a supportive, tight-knit community that grows and improves as one.
For beginners, we recommend starting with 2 to 4 classes per week. This gives your body and mind time to adapt to the techniques and physical demands of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. As your skills and conditioning improve, working up to 5 classes a week can accelerate your progress. That said, BJJ is both mentally and physically demanding—so it’s important to listen to your body and allow for proper recovery. Consistency is key, but quality training and smart rest are what truly drive growth on the mats.
For traditional classes, our students typically wear a gi (uniform), while no-gi classes call for rash guards and spats or similar form-fitting athletic wear. It’s important to choose high-quality gear that fits properly and meets competition standards. If you’re just starting out, don’t worry—you’re not required to have the full attire right away. We recommend wearing comfortable, non-baggy athletic clothing for your trial classes.
Not at all! You don’t need to be in shape to begin Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Our classes are designed to help you build fitness, strength, and endurance over time—no matter your starting point. Many people actually begin BJJ as a way to get in shape. We’ll guide you at your own pace, and you’ll find yourself getting stronger and more confident with each class.
We take all major credit cards and debit cards. We do not accept personal checks.
In our BJJ-focused classes, you can expect a mix of strength training and skill development. Each session typically includes:
Conditioning Workouts: Short, intense sessions designed to boost your endurance and functional fitness, helping you perform better on the mats. These workouts usually last between 5 to 15 minutes. Whether you're honing your skills or building strength, our classes are designed to elevate your BJJ journey!
BJJ Drills: Practice specific techniques and skills, such as escapes, submissions, and guard passing, tailored to improve your grappling.
Positional Rounds: A way to practice BJJ by starting in a specific position, like mount or side control. Instead of rolling freely, you and your partner focus on learning how to escape, control, or finish from that spot. It’s a great way to build skill and confidence, one step at a time.
Yes, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is an excellent way to improve your fitness and support weight loss. BJJ combines cardio, strength training, and flexibility in one dynamic workout, helping you burn calories while building muscle and endurance. Plus, because it’s fun, challenging, and constantly engaging, many people find it easier to stay consistent compared to traditional workouts—leading to lasting results both on and off the mats.
